Financial FAQ Reference Guide

As you know, our bookkeeper, Kathy Toth, retired as of August 31, 2018. Beginning September 1, all bookkeeping services are provided by an outside accounting firm – Ellsworth & Associates, Inc.  Led by Scott and Deanna Ellsworth, Ellsworth & Associates is a local accounting firm that specializes in accounting for churches and real estate investors. As we make the transition from having an internal bookkeeper, to working with an external firm, adjustments in expectations and practices are required by our staff, deacons, ministry leaders, and congregation members. This document is designed to address frequently asked questions for all involved regarding new expectations and procedures.  We have prepared this document for you as a reference guide to direct you as questions arise.  Contact information for Ellsworth & Associates can be found at the bottom of this document.

 

Contributions

  • With the exception of contributions for the general fund, it will be of utmost importance that you note the ministry that should receive credit for the contribution in the memo line of your check. All questions regarding contributions posted to your account should be directed to Ellsworth & Associates.

  • Questions about contributions given through a stock gift should be directed to Josh Hutt, our church treasurer. A year-end statement will be prepared by Ellsworth & Associates.

Missions & Faith Promise

  • All questions regarding support sent to our missionaries, as well as monies raised and disbursed through Faith Promise, should be directed to Eric Shrimpton.

  • Information related to donating directly to those missionaries we support can be obtained from Eric Shrimpton.

Statements

  • Please log in to your Touch Point profile to obtain your year-end giving statement.If you do not have an account, please contact the office and a link will be sent to you to register for your profile.

  • If you do not have access to a printer, please contact Ellsworth & Associates.

Mission Trips

  • A list of those that have given financial support as well as the balance due for the trip can be accessed via your profile in Touch Point by selecting the ‘Involvement’ tab.

Reimbursements & Check Requests

  • The process for reimbursements and check requests will not change. Check Request forms can be found in the work room (an electronic copy can be sent to you – please contact the office).  Please complete the form, attach the receipts and submit your reimbursement to the office for approval.  Once it is approved, it will be sent to Ellsworth & Associates and a check will be generated.

Ministry Budget Inquiries

  • Ministry leaders should direct all inquiries relating to month-to-date or year-to-date expenses for a specific budget line to Ellsworth & Associates.
